Uniting NSW.ACT CEO Tracey Burton will be in attendance tomorrow (Wednesday) for the “topping out” ceremony for its newest retirement living development at Marion Street, Leichhardt, in Sydney’s Inner West, and an official opening of the sold-out Norton Street, Leichhardt Retirement Living Apartments.
The two sites have been in the Uniting Church’s hands since 1957. Uniting has redeveloped its former Annesley House aged care home in Marion Street and its disused Harold Hawkins Court aged care home in Norton Street.
Uniting Marion Street, when opened next year, will have 12 units allocated to affordable housing and Norton Street has 10.
The official opening of the sold-out 49 independent living apartments on Norton Street will be celebrated afterwards.
