Bill Riddington and Andrew Latimer end over 100 years of service to the retirement living sector

1 min read

After nearly two decades of dedicated service and commitment to residents, Bill, a Life Member of the Property Council of Australia, Andrew and the late Peter Burgess have sold Boronia Retirement Services Pty Ltd, the owner of the Management Rights for Hunters Hill Lodge, marking the end of an era and their involvement in the retirement sector spanning over 100 years between them.

The new owner is Chester Group, a family business, who are committed to continuing the quality of life the residents are accustomed to at Hunters Hill Lodge.

Vision Lifestyle Projects, a specialist retirement living advisory, sales & marketing and operational management business led by John Burgess, Marc Orklin and Stig Andersen, have been operating Hunter Hill Lodge since 2005. They have been reappointed as manager on a long-term agreement under the new ownership.

Hunters Hill Lodge, which has 49 one- and two-bedroom serviced apartments, opened in 1989. Over the past decade, under Vision management, Hunters Hill Lodge has undergone significant unit and common area upgrades as well as the implementation of a stronger embedded care offering with increased staffing levels to support the needs of current and future residents.

As part of the transition in ownership, Vision has implemented a new strategic direction fully supported by the new owners and the broader community. The new strategic direction involves Boronia buying back strata titled units, renovating them and selling new licence agreements to incoming residents, a significant shift in the legal and financial structure of the community aimed at meeting market demands.
