Aged care
Only one aged care provider left on ASX as Estia Health delists

Estia Health was delisted from the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) today, leaving Regis Aged Care the last remaining publicly listed aged care operator in Australia.

Estia Health shares were suspended from trade on 6 December, with the stock last trading at $3.08.

US-based Bain Capital acquired Estia Health for $3.20 per share, less the aged care operator's 12 cents per share dividend.

Estia Health shares were issued at $5.75 with the shares first trading nine years ago, almost to the day.

Dr Gary Weiss, who served as Chairman of Estia Health since 2016, stepped down from his position on 15 December.

Two independent non-executive directors, Norah Barlow ONZM and Professor Simon Willcock AM, will continue in their roles. The current executive management, led by CEO Sean Bilton, will remain under Bain Capital’s ownership.

Estia Health owns and operates 26 homes in Victoria, 20 homes in New South Wales, 19 homes in South Australia and 10 in Queensland, with over 8,000 residents.
