Foreign Investment Review Board clears Stockland’s purchase of Lendlease’s masterplanned communities with nine land lease sites

1 min read

The Lendlease deal, according to Stockland CEO - Development, Andrew Whitson, includes up to nine future land lease communities totalling 2,500 home sites.

The purchase was announced in December 2023 when Lendlease told the ASX that it had entered into a deal to sell the communities to the country’s largest listed residential developer alongside its Thailand-based capital partner Supalai Australia

Approval from the Foreign Investment Review Board marks the final regulatory hurdle for the major acquisition. However, Stockland still has to sell its Forest Reach master planned community project in Huntley, 18km from Wollongong, which was to include a Stockland Halcyon land lease community for over 60s, before the deal can go ahead.
