Jason Binder continues to buy aged care homes and has bought its ninth in Victoria after acquiring Not For Profit genU’s only aged care facility.
Costa House in Lara, 18km northeast of Geelong’s CBD, will transfer to Respect Group after genU’s Executive and Board decided to narrow and deepen its strategic growth focus within disability, community aged care, training, and employment services.
“Being part of a large organisation with great capacity to invest in systems, staffing and facilities will mean strong aged care services for Lara and its surrounding regions,” said Jason.
genU’s CEO Clare Amies said Costa House is better operated by a specialist organisation rather than as a standalone service. It follows the recent sale of genU’s only childcare service, Pipsqueaks.
The handover will take place on 8 January 2024.
Respect has grown significantly in the last decade and now owns and operates 22 homes across Tasmania, Victoria, and NSW. Respect also operates home care services in multiple states, and more than 700 units in different retirement villages and independent living communities.
