In May 2024, the Board of the Concord Senior Citizens Welfare Association came to the unanimous decision to transfer full control of aged care home RFBI Concord Community Village, located 10km west of Sydney's CBD, to Not For Profit retirement village, aged care, and home care provider Royal Freemasons Benevolent Institution (RFBI).
Since 1998, RFBI Concord Community Village had been jointly owned by RFBI and the Concord Senior Citizens Welfare Association. The decision was made to ensure the continuation of the existing high standard of care, according to a statement. The home's logo will change, but the name of the home, and all staff and services, will remain the same.
On 26 June, Frank Price RFBI CEO, David Adam RFBI Chairman, and Judy Love, Director of the RFBI Concord Community Village Board, visited the home to provide residents, families and staff with detailed information about the transition and to answer questions. The change of ownership took effect on 31 July 2024.
