ACCPA and ACIITC announce merger with a new Chief Technology Advisor role

1 min read

The peak body for aged care providers, Aged and Community Care Providers Association (ACCPA), has announced it will merge with the Aged Care Industry Information Technology Council (ACIITC).

ACIITC was formed in 2007 by the two former aged care peaks - Leading Age Services Australia (LASA) and Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA) - to provide the sector with a body to consider information technology opportunities and communicate lessons learnt to providers.

The merger transition "will be a gradual process over the coming months, allowing us to develop a comprehensive strategy and collaborate effectively with the sector, suppliers, and vendors," ACCPA wrote in a LinkedIn post.

The Independent Chair of ACIITC, Dr George Margelis (pictured above), will become ACCPA's Chief Technology Advisor.

"By embedding the work of [ACIITC] within ACCPA, we can enhance its resources and reach," ACCPA said.

"We have a team dedicated to innovation, data and insights, which will build on the legacy of the InnovAGEING program.

"Together, we will amplify our efforts and speak with one strong voice on technology and innovation in aged and community care."
