Adecco targets nursing and aged care agencies as it looks to become a key player in health and aged care recruitment

1 min read

Australia’s largest recruitment agency has announced a strategic expansion into the healthcare sector as health and aged care providers continue to struggle with ongoing workforce shortages, particularly for Registered Nurses.

The Swiss French owned group – which is the world’s second-largest human resources provider – says it will focus on bringing overseas talent to Australia to address the expected shortage of 123,000 nurses in Australia by 2030.

“Our key target occupation will be Registered Nurses but [we also] have plans to recruit aged care staff from overseas as part of the expansion,” Nicholas Lee (pictured), Senior Vice President CEO, Adecco Australia & NZ, told The Weekly SOURCE.

Adecco is also actively seeking acquisitions and partnerships and says it is already having conversations with other agencies.

“We are seeking expressions of interest from established business owners looking to exit or scale up their healthcare recruitment business by joining forces,” Nicholas stated.

“We are particularly interested in businesses with expertise in the nursing and aged care space. Experience with international recruitment is a plus.”

With residential care providers now spending $3 million a day on agency staff – and the sector now on course for the Government’s mandatory requirement of 215 direct care minutes next October – will we see more recruitment providers targeting the aged care space in the next 12 months?
