Australian Unity sells Carlton site approved for aged care to apartment developer

Australian Unity has sold a 1,597 square metre site in the inner-city Melbourne suburb of Carlton that was approved for an aged care home to Bensons Property Group, which plans to build apartments.

The sale is said to be in the range of $17 million to $18 million, as reported in Real Estate Source.

Australian Unity offered the site permit ready, with a 12-storey aged care facility designed by Fender Katsalidis. The architects have worked with Bensons to redesign the proposal.

The site at 482-492 Drummond Street is adjacent to Australian Unity’s Rathdowne Place aged care facility.
