The first residents have begun moving into The Alba Care Suites, which form part of Australian Unity’s 15-storey The Alba assisted living and residential aged care development in South Melbourne, 3km south of the CBD.
The Alba Care Suites occupy the upper floors of the former office headquarters, with each floor containing two 12-resident ‘households’ which have their own kitchen, dining room and living room.
“There are very good levels of demand” for the Care Suites, said Christopher Rooke, Managing Partner of the project’s marketing agency One Fell Swoop.
The Alba also contains 60 assisted living apartments – The Alba Apartments, which open in August. Six are sold and another four are expected to sell within months. Entry fees range from between $800,000 and $2 million, with monthly fees of $2,300.
Curtis Stone’s events company will operate The Alba’s ground floor Corner Stone Café and Level 15 restaurant, both of which are open to the wider community.
