“Heart of positive ageing”: Bolton Clarke brings acquisitions together under refreshed branding

1 min read

Australia's largest Not For Profit aged care provide has achieved a "significant milestone" bringing its Acacia Living Group, Allity and McKenzie Aged Care operations together under a single, updated brand.

The new brand - 'Australia's heart of positive ageing' - features Bolton Clarke's well-recognised red and orange colour palette reconfigured into a heart-shaped logo.

Bolton Clarke acquired family-run McKenzie Aged Care in February 2023, taking on its nine Queensland residential aged care homes and two retirement villages, plus management rights to eight Victorian aged care homes.

The acquisition followed Bolton Clarke’s $700 million purchases of ASX-listed private company Allity, then Australia’s sixth largest residential aged care provider and its 43 homes, in December 2021, and Perth-based Acacia Living in November 2021.

Allity's branding has been updated on Bolton Clarke's website, with McKenzie Aged Care and Acacia Living Group's branding likely to be updated by May.

Signage is being updated in Victoria as a priority, and will be rolled out in stages across other states.

In December 2022, Bolton Clarke sold the land and residential aged care buildings for nine Allity sites in South Australia to Australian Unity for $220 million under a 20-year leaseback arrangement.

"After one of Australia’s largest integration programs and nearly a decade of strategic growth we are now Australia’s largest independent, Not For Profit aged care provider, with 15,000+ employees supporting more than 130,000 clients and residents in the community and across 88 homes and 38 retirement villages," said Bolton Clarke Group CEO Stephen Muggleton.

"Operating under a single brand is a terrific step as together we shape the future of positive ageing, supporting more older Australians with greater options and enhanced care continuity.

"Together with our group of companies RDNS Your Choice HomeCare, RDNS New Zealand and Altura Learning, our focus is on supporting more people in more locations with connected care and living options."
