Addressing the audience in Adelaide this morning, CEO Tom Symondson has announced that the Aged and Community Care Providers Association (ACCPA) wants to take on a new name – Ageing Australia.
In an exclusive interview prior to the National Conference, Tom told DCM Group’s SATURDAY magazine that the rebrand will position the peak body to better represent its aged care and retirement living membership base and the older Australians they support.
“We have spent the last two years building this organisation into something that I am really proud of and that I think is doing a really good job for its membership and for the older people in Australia that rely on our services,” he stated.
“We’ve got to look the part, and having a name that talks to our strategy, which is that we want to ensure that older people have the best possible lives through the delivery of the services that we represent, speaks to that.”
The move comes just over two years after the Aged & Community Services Australia (ACSA) and Leading Age Services Australia (LASA) merged into a united peak body and Tom took on the CEO role.
The new name and logo have been approved by the board.
