NSW aged care provider Scalabrini wins ‘best workplace’ award

1 min read

As aged care operators across Australia grapple with staff shortages, the pandemic, and wave after wave of reforms, one provider has been recognised for its high level of staff satisfaction and engagement.

Scalabrini Villages has been recognised with two major awards, ‘Best Workplace Award’ and ‘Change Champion Award’.

The awards are part of The Voice Project, which measures staff satisfaction and engagement across a range of Australian workplaces.

The ‘Best Workplace’ award is granted to organisations where staff provide a score of more than 80% on every survey question and is therefore identified as an “exceptional place to work”.

The ‘Change Champion’ award is given to organisations showing strong improvements over the last twelve months.

The Voice Project is part of a Macquarie University program which commenced in 2002, looking at the impact of employee and client ‘voice’ on engagement, leadership, and service quality.

More than 3.75 million Australians from nearly 1,000 organisations in the public, private and Not For Profit sectors have taken the survey, making it a key research tool for employee satisfaction.

Scalabrini CEO Richard de Haast thanked his team for providing honest feedback to help mould the organisation in the future.

“These results are incredibly humbling,” he said. “To know that our people enjoy working in our villages and are aligned with our organisational values is hugely satisfying.”

Richard said happy staff make for happy residents. “Staff engagement and resident wellbeing go hand in hand,” he said. “Ultimately, if our staff are happy and motivated, our standard of care remains first rate and our residents respond very positively.”
