PwC suspended from aged care contract

1 min read

The Federal Government has suspended PwC’s audit of an aged care workforce grant program in the wake of the scandal in which the professional services organisation misused confidential tax information to benefit its clients.

The Guardian has reported the Government was not satisfied with discussions it had had with PwC.

A Department of Health and Aged Care spokesperson told The SOURCE, “PwC was conducting an audit of the Aged Care Workforce Bonus grant. The grant involved payments to aged care workers to retain and attract them to the sector. The audit was to determine that correct amounts had been paid.

“The audit was suspended in early June 2023, to obtain additional information and assurances from PwC.

“The grant program itself did not involve PwC and was already complete, so workers are not affected.”
