#ThanksforCaring”: In honour of Aged Care Employee Day

Events are taking place across the nation today to say #thanksforcaring to around 360,000 aged care workers on the fifth Aged Care Employee Day, which is organised by peak body Aged and Community Care Providers Association (ACCPA).

The DCM Group gives a heartfelt thank you to all the compassionate aged care professionals for their unwavering dedication to caring for the most vulnerable people in society.

We have visited a number of aged care teams this year and witnessed firsthand the outstanding commitment and love for their work.

Sonya Smart, CEO of Victorian-based Not For Profit VCMH, echoed the sentiment of all CEOs stating:

“Aged Care Employee Day is a time to reflect on the tireless efforts made by our aged care workers and volunteers each and every day, and thank them for their resilience, passion and commitment as they care for our ageing community.”

From Registered Nurses to cooks, cleaners, maintenance and administration, it’s crucial every role is celebrated for the part they play in delivering exceptional care to senior Australians.

The SOURCE: Today is a celebration, but it is fundamentally wrong that 300,000-plus indirect care workers still have not had the 15% pay rise extended to their direct care colleagues.
