Five aged care providers have made IBISWorld’s top 50 unlisted Australian companies of 2024 – and none are ‘private’ according to the report.
Industry specialist IBISWorld – which publishes its list annually – bases its findings on total revenue, which it gathers through company data and industry figures.
This year’s list was topped again by Gina Rinehart’s Hancock Prospecting – but 12 aged care providers also feature in the Top 500.
Most are large operators with diversified portfolios barring three private operators: Opal HealthCare, Hall & Prior and Thompson Healthcare.
Interestingly, all five providers in the Top 50 are big, diversified Not For Profits.
Coming in at No. 12, St Vincent’s Health Australia moved up one position with revenue of $3.257 billion – up 4.79% on last year.
In No. 36, Australian Unity moved up two places with revenue of $2.1 billion, up 13.01%.
UnitingCare Queensland fell three places to No. 38 with $2.035 billion, an increase of 4.71%.
Calvary Health Care stayed steady at No. 39 with $2.017 billion, a rise of 9.37%.
And Bolton Clarke jumped from No. 61 in 2023 to No. 46 this year with $1.584 billion in revenue, a 34.15% increase.
Also in the top 100 were Uniting at No. 60 ($1.308 billion, up 12.25%) and Opal HealthCare at No. 63 ($1.27 billion, up 33.79%) according to the figures published in The Australian.
