Data collection has begun for the 2022 Retirement Census, with all Australian retirement village operators encouraged to participate.
Run by the Retirement Living Council (RLC), the annual Census gathers data on villages’ physical characteristics, business characteristics, residents, ownership details, sales, contracts, future development, and health and well-being.
According to the RLC, participation assists in the peak body’s performance, investment, and advocacy efforts.
“Participating village operators receive a detailed 50+ page report which assists them in benchmarking their performance against sector averages, identifying their strengths and weaknesses, and remedying areas of underperformance.
“The Retirement Census increases transparency and knowledge about the sector. This helps potential investors of the sector in order to promote investment,” the RLC said.
Data collection ends on 17 March, with the results to be presented at the National Retirement Living Summit in 22 June; for more information and to participate, see the Property Council’s website.
