The private operator has confirmed its status as one of the most prolific builders in the aged care sector, with three new developments due for completion in the first half of 2025, including its first in the ACT.

The three sites are:

  • Arcare Ringwood, VIC, 26km east of the Melbourne CBD: a 114-bed facility set to be finished in April 2025;

  • Arcare Lysterfield, VIC, 43km southeast of Melbourne: an 84-bed home due for completion in May 2025; and

  • Arcare Aranda, ACT, 14km northwest of the Canberra CBD: a 120-bed facility expected to be ready in June 2025.

“This is an exciting period of growth for Arcare,” said an Arcare spokesperson.

“We are expecting to complete three new builds in the next eight months, including our first foray into the ACT. All will include our signature Café, movie theatre and private dining suite, and of course our industry-leading design.”

Arcare is operated by the Knowles Group, which has over 40 years’ experience building in the aged care, retirement living and home care space.

The group recently opened its 96-bed Gisborne aged care facility in Victoria's Macedon Ranges, 54km northwest of Melbourne, bringing its total number of homes to 53.

Arcare also purchased Mercy Health’s former Maryville Hostel, in Boronia, 30km east of the Melbourne CBD, in June this year.
