Arcare has cut the ribbon on its newest residential aged care home at Thornlands, Brisbane, which includes a commercial, medical and allied health precinct open to the public.

Comprising 92 suites, the $11 million development offers both permanent and dementia care. Each room comes with its own ensuite, with communal amenities including three courtyards, a café, a physiotherapy room, a theatre, and a hair salon.

According to Arcare CEO Colin Singh (pictured), this is the first time an Arcare home has included a commercial and medical precinct, which will comprise seven tenancies and be used for local businesses where possible.

“We are excited to extend Arcare’s services in the Thornlands community. This opportunity allows us to not only provide a quality living environment to the aged, but also increased job opportunities and support to the local community,” he said.

Arcare recently announced plans to expand into the ACT.
