Private aged care operator Arcare, which has 40 residences in Queensland, NSW and Victoria, is hoping to make it 41.
It has made a Modification Application to the NSW Government to build a new $20 million 110-bed single storey facility in Warners Bay, a suburb of Lake Macquarie.
Arcare bought the site from Bupa, which has divested a number of aged care homes recently, earlier this year. Bupa had approval for a two-storey 144-bed aged care facility on the site, including a health hub.
Arcare are hoping its application will get the green light after an assessment from the Hunter & Central Coast Regional Planning Panel.
