Ryman most trusted brand for 7th year

Ryman Healthcare, New Zealand’s largest retirement village operator, has been named the most trusted brand in the country’s aged care and retirement industry for the seventh consecutive year in the Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brands 2021 awards.

Reader’s Digest Editor-in-Chief Louise Waterson said brands that were genuine, authentic, reliable and consistent came out on top in the annual awards. The winners are chosen from a survey of 1,600 New Zealanders across 65 categories.

Ryman Healthcare Group CEO Gordon MacLeod (picured above) said it was humbling to receive such positive feedback, especially after a tough year.

“During the COVID-19 crisis we turned our villages into safe havens where residents and their families knew they would be looked after and would have everything they needed. They put their faith and trust in us – and we appreciate it,’’ he said.

Trust is hard to win and easy to lose, which made the award even more special, added MacLeod.

Ryman Healthcare has 36 New Zealand villages with more than 11,000 residents, including more than 3,000 in aged care.

Survey participants praised Ryman’s accountable, empathetic and caring staff as well as the appeal of its villages.

Ryman Health has also been named Aged Advisor Peoples’ Choice Awards: Best group provider 2018, 2019 and 2020.
