The Rose by Moran wins UDIA NSW’s Excellence in Retirement Living Award

1 min read

With 33 independent living two- and three-bedroom apartments, priced from $950,000 to $3.5 million, The Rose by Moran has won a major design award for Dr Shane Moran’s renowned Provectus Care.

The Rose by Moran on the Pacific Highway in Wahroonga, 18km northwest of Sydney’s CBD, sits alongside the Rosemoran mansion, with well-developed gardens and luxurious amenities in a private and secure setting.

It was awarded the Excellence in Retirement Living category at the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s NSW Gala Dinner in Sydney last Friday.

Shane (pictured right), the founder of Provectus Care, led his family owned Moran Health Care Group to become Australia’s largest private hospital and residential aged care provider.  In 2001 he founded Provectus Care to fulfil his vision for the provision of premium aged care to the ageing population. Since launching, it has rapidly expanded and owns and operates independent retirement living villages Sage by Moran in Cronulla, in Sydney’s south; Darling House in Sydney’s The Rocks and Rose by Moran.

“The judges were impressed with the adaptive reuse, transitional elements, noise attenuation and well-thought-out resident entry that led to well-thought-out apartment designs. The development blends in with the steep nature of the site to provide a retirement living space worthy and reflective of the homes the current occupants once resided and reside as their last homes,” the audience was told.

“The Rose by Moran sets a benchmark of seniors living in Sydney as a premier residential address integrating salubrious functional design with architectural excellence, exceptional amenity, and beautiful indoor and outdoor community area set in a well-defined and secure landscape environment.”

Construction and property development firm Rosewell Group and Antoniades Architects brought the project to life.
