Catholic Health Australia pays tribute to its ‘masked heroes’ with new film series

The Not For Profit has released a series of videos to thank its network of 80,000 hospital and aged care workers across the country for their extraordinary efforts during COVID-19.

Shot in Melbourne at St Vincent’s Hospital in Fitzroy, Mercy Hospital in Werribee and Mercy Place East Melbourne aged care home as the second wave hit the city, the videos individually highlight the work of clinical nurses, registered aged care nurses, cleaners, cooks, and physiotherapists with real footage designed to depict an average day for staff.

CHA chief executive Pat Garcia said he wanted the Catholic sector to pay tribute to those who worked so hard to keep the community safe.

“These quiet heroes have turned up to work every day to help people, often in the face of considerable risks to themselves,” he said.

“I know that I speak for all our members when I say that they truly are our masked heroes. But, despite their masks, they are all named in the film. We want to acknowledge the human beings behind the work.”
