Growthbuilt, the Not For Profit’s construction partner, hosted a Topping Out ceremony with representatives from both organisations gathering to witness a significant milestone in the construction of a new 102-bed residential aged care home at Kincumber, 95km north of Sydney.
A crane lifted a Magnolia tree above the development, lowering it gently into the ground to herald the start of the ceremony on 13 February. The architect for the $35 million project is Jackson Teece.
"We have designed our aged care home at Kincumber to not just be a place to live; it will be a sanctuary that will foster a strong sense of community," said Peter Paltoo, Catholic Healthcare’s Chief Property Officer.
Catholic Healthcare and Growthbuilt remain on track to complete construction and have the home operational in late 2025. The Weekly SOURCE reported earlier this month the organisation had lodged two development applications to continue the redevelopment of St Hedwig Retirement Village in Blacktown, 34km west of Sydney’s CBD.
The Not For Profit, which owns and operates 41 residential aged care homes, 13 retirement villages and home and community services for 6,500 clients, had $555.6 million in revenue, according to its annual review in 2023-24, where it recorded a profit of $10.1 million. Catholic Healthcare had recorded a loss of $55.9 million 12 months earlier.
