ACCPA announces new brand – Ageing Australia – and expanded mission to represent retirement villages and social housing

In front of 2,300 delegates, ACCPA CEO Tom Symondson declared that with 300 members that operate retirement villages plus social housing, its time to be recognised as an innovative voice.

He said Aged & Community Care Providers Association (ACCPA) doesn’t ‘talk’ about what they do. He cited palliative care and voluntary assisted dying, as well as retirement living and seniors housing being services ACCPA members deliver.

The new name, Ageing Australia

Tom also stated that the 300 village operating members represent 900+ actual villages, and to support these members 12 months ago they recruited Mark Prosser to lead the business unit. See conference village stream story below.

Mentioning that his mother in law lives (is thriving) in a retirement village in Armadale, Tom stated “We have to build the reputation of retirement villages”, and the fact that they deliver “longer, healthier lives”.
