Cranbrook Care to focus on retirement living as it quits residential aged care

1 min read

The Sydney-based private operator, which owns the 50-apartment Cranbrook Residences and the adjacent older Golf Shore Retirement Village in Norwest, 35km northwest of the Sydney CBD, has announced its intention to expand its retirement living business.

As we reported last week, Cranbrook Care sold its five aged care homes to Opal HealthCare, Australia's largest residential aged care operator, last month.

Cranbrook Care Executive Director Kerry Mann told The Weekly SOURCE the group now plans to "shift focus" to its retirement living portfolio.

"Cranbrook Care will continue to operate its retirement villages and has plans to expand further into retirement living," she said.

“Cranbrook Care plans to bring our wealth of knowledge in running Australia's best aged care residences into retirement living.

"Being a multi award winner in aged care, and winning the Best Retirement Living Development award from the Property Council of Australia, puts us in a great position to continue to deliver the best in retirement living for older Australians," she said.

The incoming aged care reforms and growing complexity and cost of residential aged care has seen large numbers of smaller residential aged care operators selling out to larger aged care providers.
