The burgeoning reputation of the business, founded by village veteran Paul Browne, is reflected in the interest in its third continuum of care private business.
Residents will be moving into the first of the five stages planned for Amberfield on the edge of Weston, Canberra, in the middle of 2024.
“Stage 1 is made up of 52 villas and some communal areas in that stage. They are predominately three-bedroom + study (some are two-bedroom + study). They are close to sold out as we held a few back until recently,” LDK Seniors’ Living Chief Executive Byron Cannon (pictured below) said.
“We have also started construction of Stage 2 this month and it will be completed mid-2025. We have sold 55 out of 60 apartments in our first release of Stage 2 with zero advertising. Our next release for Stage 2 will be mid-2024.
“We have over 350 qualified leads for the remainder of the project and are very close to 100 all-time net sales for the project (over $150m in net sales), again with no advertising dollars spent.”
The $250 million Amberfield will feature 52 villas and 272 apartments, with a range of amenities including a café, bar, restaurant, wellness centre, on-site grocer, barber, salon, gym, theatre, and dog and walking parks.
LDK, which saw Anglicare Sydney buy Cromwell Property’s 50% ownership of LDK in October last year, owns and operates two continuum of care villages: its first purpose-built seniors’ village Greenway Views in Tuggeranong, Canberra, and The Landings in North Turramurra on Sydney’s Upper North Shore, which Paul bought in December 2018.
