Jolyon Good (pictured above), who has been operating Good Constructions with his wife Jayne, entered the retirement village sector six years ago.
Today, refurbishing ageing villages makes up the majority of their business which has now expanded from its base in Melbourne to Adelaide and Sydney on the back of growing demand. $100,000 for each village unit refurbishment is now the norm.
With new villages selling for 30 to up to 200% more than an older village, Jolyon says that an increasing number of their clients are investing more in their ageing villages – and seeing significant uplifts as a result.
