Reside Communities opens first stage of vertical retirement community Esperance Hope Island

CEO and Founder Glen Brown (left) says his new vertical retirement community on the Gold Coast is giving seniors a taste of what’s to come.

Reside Communities’ three Brisbane villages – Samford Grove, Brookland at Robertson and Fairway Carindale are all expanding significantly.

The first stage of Esperance at Hope Island is now officially open, with resort style facilities, architecturally-designed apartments and multi-million-dollar penthouses. Esperance is a $250 million master-planned, waterfront community purpose-built for retirees looking to tailor their retirement.

“At Reside Communities, we’re setting a new standard for retirement operators in south-east Queensland – one that prioritises health and wellbeing, independent living and choice for seniors in Queensland,” Glen said.

“Esperance is our first Gold Coast retirement village development and we’ve already welcomed more than 70 residents since opening in May 2023, with most having moved locally.”

Fairway Carindale, the latest project in the Reside portfolio, is an exclusive $150 million community at Carindale, 13km southeast of Brisbane’s CBD. It is set to open later this year and nearly 80% of Stage 1 is already sold. Fairway will see the construction of 177 apartments and offer exclusive amenities for residents.
