Retirement living set for major growth as investors eye long-term opportunities: LEADERS SUMMIT presentations now available

1 min read

The retirement living sector is entering a new era of transformation and investment, with strong signals that mergers and acquisitions (M&A) will accelerate over the next few years.

According to Hugo Dudley-Smith, Managing Director of M&A advisory firm Gresham Partners, retirement villages are becoming increasingly attractive to both strategic and financial investors. These include not just private equity, but also infrastructure funds and pension-backed capital looking for long-term, stable returns.

“Investor confidence is on the rise,” Hugo told the 2025 LEADERS SUMMIT, noting a key shift has been the entry of infrastructure funds into the sector – long-term investors with deep pockets and a growth mindset.

Their involvement signals a maturing market, and with demand for retirement and aged care services soaring, the sector is seen as a future-proof investment.

“We’re seeing strategic repositioning in retirement living,” Hugo said, “and those with scale and vision will lead the next wave of growth.”

To support ongoing leadership and strategy development across the industry, DCM has now made 23 key presentations from the SUMMIT available to the wider sector.
