Ryman Healthcare opens first stage of eighth village in Melbourne

Named after local entertainment icon Bert Newton, the New Zealand operator’s latest village opening in Highett, 16km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD, marks another significant milestone in our journey to redefine retirement living in Australia, said Ryman Healthcare Australia CEO Cam Holland.

“Bert Newton Village will offer a wealth of opportunities for residents to live life to the fullest. Construction is continuing at pace on the next residential stages, the village centre and residential care building, with openings at regular times over the next 12 months,” he said.

Ryman Healthcare has five villages, with aged care on site, being constructed in Victoria and has the same number of sites in its Australian land bank.
