What a difference five years make: RetireAustralia’s new plan for retirement village in Brisbane’s North

1 min read

In 2018, the Brisbane-based operator, jointly owned by Infratil and NZ Super, unveiled plans for its first apartment-style development in Lutwyche, 6km north of the Brisbane CBD.

Within seven months, the eight-storey Fancutts Retirement Living, featuring 83 independent living apartments and 35 care apartments for residents needing a higher level of support, had been put it on hold.

Now RetireAustralia has lodged new plans on the same site, for a total of 265 apartments, with a maximum height of 10 storeys:

  • Stage 1: Building A providing 101 ILUs and 12 care suites;
  • Stage 2: Building B providing 72 ILUs; and
  • Stage 3: Building C providing 80 ILUs

The Marchese Partners-designed project has been submitted by consultants Town Planning Alliance.
