With DCM Institute’s next series of Professional Development Day set to commence next week, Executive Director, James Wiltshire, says the program is going from “strength to strength.”
“We already have a full house in Sydney, with Brisbane and Perth not too far off,” James said.
The upcoming series will explore dementia in retirement villages, as well as a deep dive into dispute resolution with the focus on developing the mediation skills of program participants.
“Every chance we get, we are asking Managers how can we help. What do they want to know more about. Both topics we are going to explore this month is a result of Managers in our program asking for more on dementia and dispute resolution,” James said.
Joining the DCM Institute team will be Senior Living Mediation, who have collaborated on a bespoke workshop on mediation for Village and Community Managers.
“Mediation and dispute resolution are one of those areas you can never spend enough time developing. Unless you do it day in, day out – which is not what community living is about – then days like this provide you with a chance to hone your skills, which you can take away with you,” added James.
