The updates include a new homepage and design that focuses on a set of steps – the “pathway to aged care” – rather than listing content topics. The service providers’ link has been relocated to the top of each page.
The different pathways – aged care, home support, home care packages and short term restorative care – have also been colour-coded so users can remember which program they have been assessed for.
The site has been the subject of complaints by residents, families, providers and health professionals since it launched in July 2014.
The Department says it is now developing information on navigating the client record; understanding support channels; and timeframes for complaints to solve providers’ other issues – welcome news.
