Barossa Village to build ungated community to create ‘community’

1 min read

With the ageing population in the Barossa Valley, South Australia, showing significant growth, CEO Ben Hall has purchased a parcel of land in the heart of Nuriootpa, including a previously inaccessible 300sqm block, bringing the total allotment to 2400sqm for a new housing cluster.

“This previously inaccessible space, once home to dilapidated houses, is being transformed into five modern, right-sized homes, showcasing our vision and commitment,” said Ben, who owns and operates 185 independent living units and a 120-bed nursing home.

“Each home has its own address and unique features, providing a personalised living experience. Rather than a cookie-cutter approach, we are creating five distinct homes to help residents maintain their identity within the community.”

The homes will only bear a plaque to identify them as belonging to Barossa Village.

“There is a new generation of retiring clientele with a different ageing focus. They want to be part of the community, part of the neighbourhood with a healthy focus on well-being.

“These homes meet the rising needs in aged care, offering aging-in-place options and expanding services for the growing community. Located near schools, shops, and recreational spaces, this development promotes independence and engagement for our senior residents.”
