Esprit de Vie lodge two vertical tower plan for second retirement living venture in Gold Coast

Urban Planning Services had lodged the development application for Stephen Scotchmer's second venture into retirement living with 57 apartments, with two- and three-bedrooms, across two towers of 21 and 20 storeys in Runaway Bay, Gold Coast, Queensland.

"The design embodies the concept of ‘The Spirit of Life’, with a focus on accommodating the ‘Later Living’," states BDA Architecture in the application to City of Gold Coast.

"The project includes expansive communal facilities spread over two levels, designed to be the vibrant heart of the community. These amenities will feature a resident café, indoor/outdoor pool and spa, fully-equipped gym, treatment rooms, wellness area, and a versatile multipurpose room.

"A pedestrian spine will connect the two towers to the street frontage creating an activated ground plane and ensuring seamless access. The site will welcome visitors with a lush and engaging ground plane. Visitor parking will be conveniently located on the ground level, while resident vehicles will be accommodated in two dedicated basement levels, discreetly positioned away from public view."

Stephen's first Gold Coast venture Esprit de Vie Mermaid Waters, the 154 one-, two and three-bedroom independent living units, is approaching occupation. Designed by Marchese Partners I Life3A, it was principally funded by NAB, plans for the retirement living venture were lodged in September 2021.

Esprit de Vie is chaired by Gary Perlstein, Principal of Perlstein Family Investments.
