The operator, owned by Aware Super, is building a 24-villa expansion at the village in the city, 485km north northeast of Sydney, in two equal stages with open dates in early 2026.
"Once the third portion is built that will be the village complete," Oak Tree business manager Carolyn Beresford said.
She added Oak Tree hosts a lot of social activity and engagement that is optional for its residents, but they pride themselves on offering extra social connections with meet-ups of Oak Trees and other independent living villages in Gunnedah and Tamworth.
"We're invested in their mental health and wellbeing, that's a big part of what we try to bring to the table as an operator," she added.
