Goodwin will subsidise seven affordable retirement living units in new ACT village

The independent Not For Profit medium rise village in Downer, designed by CK Architecture, which will have 109 Independent Living Units (ILUs) and 20 Assisted Living Apartments.

"The 109 ILUs will however include seven Affordable Retirement Living options, which will be made available to seniors currently looking for housing through CHC, an affordable housing provider in Canberra,” Erik Boddeus, Goodwin's Executive Manager Retirement Living, Property and Development, said.

"Contracts for these residents will be subsidised by Goodwin, while residents will have full residence rights. The apartments are no different to any of the other apartments and are salt-and-peppered throughout the village."

The anticipated completion date by Manteena Group is in the first quarter of 2026.
