1 min read

The family-owned aged care provider operating 36 residential aged care homes, with in-home and community care programmes across Western Australia and New South Wales, has been given approval by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) to build a $90 million aged care facility on the site of the former heritage-listed Woodside Hospital in East Fremantle, 13km southwest of Perth city centre.

The development application, with architecture by Kerry Hill Architects, proposes a four-storey residential aged care facility with 160 beds, basement parking, café, wellness centre and two supported independent living dwellings each catering for three residents and a carer.

The proposal was made under the "Significant Development" pathway under Section 17B of the Planning and Development Act, 2005 and determined by the WAPC. It retains and upgrades the existing Woodside House.
