Keyton appoint new builder for its second block at Brisbane race course village Bernborough Ascot

The Melbourne based builder Balmain & Co has been appointed to complete Stage Two of Bernborough Ascot village, which was scheduled to be ready for occupation in mid to late 2024 but the builder struck liquidity troubles.

Its original builder, the construction giants St Hilliers, based in Sydney, entered voluntary administration in February. It had completed Stage 3 of Aveo Group's Parkside Carindale and was working on 21 projects in total.

In addition to 53 new apartments, alongside Doomben Racecourse, in the suburb, 6.5km northeast of Brisbane's CBD, residents of the Stage 2 development are due to have a bowling green, indoor pool, a health and wellness studio, a yoga space, consulting rooms, a rooftop terrace, a café and a restaurant.

The building of Bernborough Ascot's Poinciana House has topped out with the roof slab now complete.

In January, The Weekly SOURCE reported that Keyton had lodged a new development application to change existing approved plans for Poinciana House
