The rebranded Lendlease Retirement Living has lodged a new development application to change existing approved plans extending its existing retirement village alongside Doomben Racecourse in the suburb, 6.5km northeast of Brisbane's CBD.
Bernborough Ascot opened in November 2020 and its website says the first building is now sold out. It is already selling units in its second building, Poinciana House, which is yet to be built.
The new proposals by Cottee Parker Architects include splitting the second building into two, resulting in an extra 40 residential units (total 338 units), with more amenities, scale, bulk and airflow.
This will mean there will be three new buildings with the height, scale and bulk of each reduced. They will be seven to eight storeys, with one building nine stories due to its rooftop garden with enhanced amenities.
Amended Units (Stages 3-5)
1 bedroom: 1 unit
2 bedrooms: 41 units
3 bedrooms 30 units
