The Not For Profit's Sunrise Beach aged care home, which is located about 3km from the centre of Noosa, in Queensland, is set to open early this year.
Designed by ThomsonAdsett, the home is based on the small household model with residnets to live in groups of eight or nine around a central courtyard with covered walkways that take advantage of the sub-tropical climate.
Construction is continuing on an adjacent retirement village to be operated by Keyton.
When both the residential aged care home and retirement village are complete, the $100 million development will be home to 260 people.
“We are delighted to be close to completion of our BlueCare Sunrise Beach Aged Care Facility,” said UnitingCare Queensland Group General Manager Property, Lavinia Dack (pictured right).
“We’re offering a high quality, small household model facility in a beautiful location next to the bush and close to the beach, coupled with BlueCare’s tailor-made person-centred model of care.
"Noosa’s seniors population is growing faster than many other parts of Australia and interest in the facility is very strong.”
A completion date is anticipated shortly.
