The Not For Profit, which is founded on Jewish values, realised the demand for over 55s independent living units after the success of M by Montefiore, which opened in November 2020, with 79 apartments, including 11 one-bedroom apartments, 61 two-bedroom apartments and 7 three-bedroom penthouses at its site in Randwick, 6km southeast of Sydney's CBD.

Sir Moses Montefiore Jewish Home then submitted a State Significant Development with plans by Jackson Teece Architecture for 37 independent living units and 12 residential aged-care beds in a five-storey building, ground-floor retail, basement carpark and a village plaza. Approval was given by the NSW Government on 1 October 2024 for construction of a five to six storey building providing 37 independent living units and 6 residential aged care facility beds, with amenities including club/lounge, multi-purpose room and administration/offices.

The approved development is in the corner of Montefiore's existing site in Randiwick.

The site also contains a building of 276 residential aged care beds which opened in 2006.

This is the fifth State Significant Development for seniors living approved since it was established by the NSW Government in November 2021. BaptistCare's $188.2 million proposal for seven single to six storey buildings providing for 130 independent living units, a 96-bed residential aged care facility and a respite day centre was approved in August 2024. Hammondcare's $82 million proposal to demolish its Neringah Hospital site at Wahroonga in Sydney’s Upper North Shore to make way for 57 seniors living units, 12 residential aged care facility beds, and 18 palliative care beds was approved in February 2024. Opal HealthCare's Narwee Parklands Care Community a 165-bed residential care facility in a single three-storey building, was approved in December 2023. And Uniting's proposal for four buildings including 203 independent living units, 133 apartments and 120 residential aged care bedrooms on the former TAFE campus at Charlestown, 10km south west of the Newcastle CBD, was the first SSD senior living development approved in December 2023.
