The Not For Profit Christian-based care organisation said it has acted after community and stakeholder feedback on the previously submitted NSW Government State Significant Development Assessment design.
BaptistCare’s plan remains for a mixture of apartments, independent living units, residential aged care homes, affordable housing and student housing with 40% of the 6.4ha site open space.
“The updated design optimises the space and its location in Macquarie Park to create a dynamic, inclusive, and outward facing community and neighbourhood that is accessible for neighbouring residents,” said BaptistCare and Urbis in an update.
“The amended master plan will seek approval for future development envelopes and uses on site. We are expecting to lodge the amended master plan with the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) in early 2025. If approved, additional SSDAs will be required for the detailed design of buildings.”
“Our vision is to create outward-facing buildings and a borderless community. It will provide a dynamic, publicly accessible space, with direct links to Macquarie Park and an easy connection to Macquarie Centre.”
BaptistCare, which last month announced the completion of the merger between Baptcare (VIC, SA, TAS), Baptist Care SA and BaptistCare (NSW, ACT, WA). is anticipating approval of the master plan in 2027. If the master plan is approved, works on the site will be subject to additional SSDA approval, required for each building.
