Opal HealthCare’s vision for its 6 Star Care Community in St Ives, Sydney

Australia's largest residential aged care provider's plans for a 145-bed premium facility, lodged under the NSW Government's State Significant Development, have reached the Exhibition stage.

Opal HealthCare’s landholding in St Ives, 18km north of Sydney's CBD, spans over 9,000sqm and comprises five individual lots.

The plan for St Ives Botanica Care Community is to demolish all structures, and prepare the site for a new three-storey Residential Care Facility with 145 beds, onsite kitchen and laundry facilities, and a café, salon, gym, health consultation rooms and a mini-bus bay. There will be basement car parking off Mona Vale Road and associated landscaping works.

St Ives Botanica Care Community will feature spacious private rooms, with ensuite bathrooms, designed to offer maximum comfort and privacy. Each room will be equipped with modern amenities, including advanced nurse call systems and smart technology to ensure the highest level of safety and convenience.

“We are making a significant investment in creating a Care Community that the people of St Ives and surrounds will want to live in, visit and cherish,” said an Opal spokesperson.

Opal HealthCare is jointly owned by three shareholder groups, including G.K. Goh Holdings, a Singaporean family-run, long-term investor in the sector who also owns residential aged care in Singapore and invests in retirement villages in Australia. Opal is the only residential aged care operator in Australia to have more than 100 sites with 102 care centres.
