Private aged care operator Rockpool secures roof of Songbird Oxley home, Brisbane, with opening expected 2025

Rockpool Songbird Oxley, located 10km southwest of the Brisbane CBD, now has a secure roof in place and builder McNab is fitting out the interior of the six-storey, 152-bed home.

Construction commenced in December 2023, with the site one of only a few aged care homes currently in construction across the country.

Rockpool Songbird Oxley will have a childcare centre next door, a similar adjacency to Rockpool Carseldine, Brisbane's first 5-star Green Star aged care home, 16km north of the Brisbane CBD, which opened in August 2022.

Private aged care operator Rockpool also operates two other aged care homes, Rockpool Morayfield, 50km north of Brisbane and completed in 2019, and another in Pelican Waters, on the Sunshine Coast, 100km north of Brisbane.

Rockpool was founded in 2016 by Bill Summers, who established Ashmore Aged Care in the 1980s before going on to co-found Domain Aged Care in 2002, now known as Opal HealthCare.
