Woolgoolga & District Retirement Village (WDRV), located in the coastal town 25km north of Coffs Harbour, has begun community consultation on the opportunity for a new retirement living development.

Its website states: “With our vision to provide a collection of modern residences and amenities; Callisto will set the benchmark for premium retirement living in Woolgoolga.”

Established in 1991, WDRV currently offers 30 Independent Living Units, and a 66-bed aged care home providing both permanent and respite care.

In a statement to The Weekly SOURCE, the organisation said: “We want to continue providing what the community needs – but cannot do so in the way we’ve done it in the past. It just is not sustainable.

“Our locals, like many across the country, are looking for alternatives in their later years; keen to live independently, but with the benefit of support services provided to them as their needs change as they age.”

CEO Sasha Andrews said: “We know that our local community want to stay here and enjoy everything that Woolgoolga has to offer. Development of a new community will provide so many benefits – and we are thrilled with the response we have already received.”
