What’s in the $14.5M clubhouse showstopper at Halycon Horizon near Geelong?

1 min read

The median two-bedroom house price in Geelong has dropped 3.3% in the past 12 months to $730,000 yet the clubhouse or clubhouses in land lease communities remain big-ticket items as they are crucial in attracting clients.

Stockland’s first land lease community for over 55s in the Geelong region, is an all-electric community located in Armstrong Creek, 13km away and a five-minute drive to Stockland’s master planned community, Banksia

Plan Group has begun constructing the $14.5 million clubhouse at Halcyon Horizon. It is described as a leisure and recreation precinct that will include a Gold Class-style cinema, social alfresco area, pickleball courts, resort-style outdoor pool, indoor swimming pool and spa, and a wellness precinct with a fully equipped gymnasium, sauna and steam room, and beauty salon.

Once complete, Halcyon Horizon will comprise 234 homes with a 7-Star energy rating and 3.9-kilowatt solar system as standard. High speed electric vehicle charging stations will be throughout the community for homeowners to use, and homeowners can also book a shared Tesla car and community bus.

Stockland Project Director Lachlan Atkins, Geelong Deputy Mayor Anthony Aitken and Stockland General Manager Halcyon Victoria, James Westh.

"The clubhouse will provide resort quality facilities within walking distance of each home, and we expect it will become a central place for homeowners to connect with new friends, keep fit, or relax,” said Stockland General Manager Halcyon Victoria, James Westh.
