Aware Super owned Oak Tree seeks second extension to its Mackay retirement village development approved in 2015

The retirement village operator has applied to Mackay Regional council for a second extension to its approval to build 98 independent living duplexes on a site in Rural View, 11.7km north of Mackay on Queensland’s east coast.

Oak Tree was given approval to build the homes, a community centre, swimming pool and bowls green in 2015.

Cameron Goffage, the Acting Head of Villages for Oak Tree, said there was “no set program we’ve got in place around start dates”.

“We’re monitoring market conditions.”
