Warrigal seeks to add 207 new independent living units over next four years

The for-purpose community organisation on the NSW South Coast has two development applications for new retirement village sites.

Shellharbour City Council is considering the following:

  • Lake South, a 65-single level villa community village with community hub and green space which is likely to begin construction in early 2024, subject to approval by Warrigal’s Directors, led by Chairman Wynand Janssen; and
  • Warilla, a 118-apartment multi-story community village on 6 building blocks with community hub, neighbourhood shop and green space, which is likely to start in 2026/2027.

Additionally, Warrigal has launched the final stage of its retirement village Shell Cove, which will have 24 apartments, with options for one-, two- and three-bedroom configurations, offering one or two bedrooms.

Stage 4 started in April 2022 with the forecast of a 15-month program. Inclement weather delays it is scheduled to be complete in the final quarter of the year.
